Small Group Strength Training in Philadelphia With Individual Coaching

Not all small group fitness classes are actually small. A class with 15, 20, or 30 people can be fun, but it is difficult for one coach to watch everyone's technique, adjust exercises, help select weights, and understand each person's individual needs.

That is why every Control Lab Small Group Training session is capped at six people. It is also why we call it training, not simply a class. You receive individualized coaching and attention that are difficult to provide in a crowded room.

Why six people per class

We want our coaches to know who is in the room. Your coach can see how you are moving, understand what you have been working on, and help you choose the version of an exercise that is appropriate for you.

That might mean one person is learning a movement while someone beside them performs a more advanced variation. Both can have a great workout and continue progressing at their own level.

Personal training attention with group training community

Control Lab Small Group Training gives you the structure and attention of coached strength training with the motivation and connection of working out alongside other people.

Structured strength programming: Each month follows a focused training block. The main movements repeat from week to week so you can practice, build confidence, and track your progress, while supporting exercises evolve to keep the program engaging. Because groups are capped at six, our coaches can also teach more technical movements, such as a kettlebell snatch or bench press, when appropriate for the individual.

Individual coaching: Our coaches provide feedback on form, loading, exercise selection, and modifications throughout every session.

A small community: With only six people, you can actually get to know the people you train beside.

That community matters. The people around you notice when you are getting stronger, celebrate your progress, and expect to see you. Over time, going to the gym becomes less about forcing yourself to work out and more about showing up for a community you are part of.
